Kitchen Remodeling Budget Calculator

Four questions, one honest number. Tell us how much of the kitchen changes, how big it is, how far you want the finishes to go, and where you live — and you’ll see the range comparable kitchens actually cost in Vancouver, WA and the Portland metro area. It’s a planning range, not a quote, and nothing is submitted anywhere.

Step 1 of 4

What’s the scope of the project?

How much of the kitchen actually changes is the single biggest driver of your total investment — bigger than square footage, and bigger than the finishes you pick.

Step 2 of 4

Which layout is closest to your kitchen?

Layout is our shorthand for size and complexity. Don’t worry about measuring — the square footage below is a guide only, so pick whichever description sounds most like your room.

Step 3 of 4

How far do you want the finishes to go?

After scope, your selections are the second-biggest lever on the budget. Cabinetry is almost always the largest single line item, followed by countertops and appliances.

Where is the home?

Labor rates, permit fees and material pricing all vary across the river. We build on both sides of it, so pick the market your home sits in.

Your Remodel Budget Range

Fully custom work is open-ended by nature — slab selections, appliance suites and millwork detail can all move the number. Treat this as a starting point, not a ceiling.

This range is a planning tool, not a quote. Serden Group does not provide binding estimates through this calculator — your real number depends on the condition of the existing space, whether plumbing or electrical has to move, appliance selections, and local permit requirements. Pricing is finalized through the design process and written into a fixed-price contract before any demolition begins.

About this calculator

It produces a planning range, not a quote. The ranges reflect what comparable kitchen projects have actually cost across Vancouver, WA and the Portland metro area, but your own number depends on the condition of the existing space, whether plumbing or electrical has to move, appliance selections, and permit requirements. Final pricing is set during design and written into a fixed-price contract before construction begins.
Most Vancouver kitchen projects land in one of four bands: roughly $20,000 to $35,000 for a cosmetic refresh, $45,000 to $75,000 for a mid-range remodel with new semi-custom cabinets and quartz counters, $75,000 to $110,000 for a full custom kitchen, and $110,000 and up for a luxury kitchen with structural changes and a premium appliance suite. We break all four down in our kitchen remodel cost guide.
Layout stands in for size and complexity. A galley kitchen has less cabinetry, countertop, and flooring than an open-plan kitchen with an island, and an island adds plumbing, electrical, and ventilation runs a galley never needs. The calculator adjusts your range up or down based on the layout you choose.
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser, nothing is submitted, and there is no cost or obligation. If the range looks workable you can book a free design consultation, and if it does not, the tool has still done its job.
